Oh and before you should ask, we are working on a new logo and will have it in the masthead as soon as it is done. As well as some cosmetic changes that will be driven by the mark.

A note about the imagery, all of the group icons are placeholders. We would like to replace them with images that our members have captured themselves of locals. Or artwork they have created. If you have some images that would work, please upload them to the photo album Scenes from our Neighborhood.

Good morning Steve. I am learning how to get around on this wonderful world you have created for all of us. It has occurred to me to ask you if there should be information put on the old website about this grand new one so others can easily find it?

Perhaps there could be a tutorial about using a ning site on the home page for all of the people joining in the fun who have not used ning before. Especially how people may customize and control their information through the site.

Teri I agree a tutorial would be wonderful for those of us who have not used a ning site before. Although I am having a lot of fun looking at all the pages and figuring out how to maneuver on this site.

I do my best work when i'm lost anyway. If ever in trouble, i just assume a way out.
Would it be possible to have a banner?
for instance:

Give the gift of the knowledge and ability to grow, preserve and store food this holiday season!

You know. I'm sure this gets out during normal communication but it is a timely, useful message for our new members just coming to our experience.

I'm not much of a typist so I wonder if there isn't a switch you can flip to allow previewing posts before they are submitted?

I like to include pics and links and junk and hate it when they don't work...

unfortunately Pops, thats something we are waiting on Ning to fix. But know this, we don't count off for typos. we are all neighbors and this space is for sharing ideas and relearning how to feed ourselves. the computer is just the means. i'll keep an eye out for a preview upgrade.
