Interesting article on Hemp production (or lack thereof) and why. Also note that cotton prices are UP, corn and soy are WAY up, and I didn't see anything about rice, but I'm sure that will be way up, too, because of Japan. I was looking for a post concerning the film "Farm for the Future" that I was sent a link about but do not see it, nor a way to search for it.  There were some good points made but IMHO  but it also contained a lot of very inaccurate information such as saying/implying that there is a natural shortage of oil. I maybe opening a can of worms but there is no doubt that there will be a shortage of energy, that we use too much energy in food production but it is also true that the energy shortage is not natural and is entirely man made. Man made in order for the oligarchs of the world to get rich, to control people,  and various other ends.

Food Stamps - Possible new market

NBC did a story on Link cards being used more widely at local farmers markets.

They featured the 61st street market in Chicago where customers food stamp benefits are doubled if used at the market rather than grocery store. The farm I work for has a table at this market. People using their cards are very excited about being able to get good veggies for a change.

Hi all! I came to this area from SW Florida a year and a half ago hopping to find some land to start a small organic truck farm and I am still Looking!

Agriculture Grade Vinegar. Is there such a thing? Does anyone know. I would like to know where to buy in bulk and or how to make my own in a 55 gal. drum. What would it take to do this?

Also, looking for some good natural, safe flea and tick killer cost effective to use on say a couple of acres. Your input would be most appreciative.

Just getting ready to move to the Farm/Ranch. Truely a mixed use property and hopefully another "Gateway" property. Any advise, resources and help would be greatly appreciated. Like the Gateway farm just north of Springfield, we are pretty much starting with nothing except a house and barn and a good horse. We will have access to the horse manure for the crops, but will need all the tools and such to get up and running. My biggest needs will be a 2 wheeled wheel barrow a saddle and horse drawn waggon. This will all be for the working of the ranch and crops. Gotta start somewhere, lol.
