Food Day Celebration!!!! at Mother's Brewing Company

Come celebrate local food with other local foodies.  There will be live music, real food and real crafted beers from Mother's Brewing Company. In Need of Schools and Producers for Pediatric Obesity Grant for SW Missouri!!

OK so........here's what our community has been working on.  We've finally identified a way to effect the school systems on a wide spread basis but we need some schools that are willing to help us implement the plan.  Well Fed Neighbor will be coupling with a local health system, local college and university and other community partners.  In fact, the more partners we have, the better because the premise for the grant is rebuilding a regional food system. How do I know if my school qualifies? …See More

I knew when my mother called me on a Thursday that something was very wrong.  For the past 5 years, she always called on Sunday.  She had just come back from hiking in the Pyrennes and hadn’t been feeling well.  Within a month, she had lost 10 pounds.  Within 2 months close to 25.   They finally diagnosed the problem........cancer. Locally Grown Food and Cancer Prevention

Moms For Local Food ( Kayla G. and I) spent much of this morning at an American Cancer Society(ACS) fundraising ride this morning. I was hot but our time was well spent. We put together a nice handout on locally grown food and cancer prevention and even handed out a few. Kayla and I got a chance to catch up on a more personal level as well. Directions for Taylor. Come up Hwy 13 to 215 East to Pleasant Hope. In Pleasant Hope turn north or left. Go 4 miles, turn left onto 495th Road (at top of hill inbetween little yellow house and little red barn, If you get to EE, you've gone to far). Go 3 miles on 495th road until you come up a small hill, the road does a sharp right, but she will want to go straight west down the "no outlet" road. Cross the bridge, take a left up to my house. Cool! Absolutely we can walk the trails. I want you to get a real feel for the property. Creek crossing gathers a bigger crowd??? Wow! We do have a beautiful creek.
Directions: from Hwy 13 coming from KC.... Go south of Bolivar to Smith's Resturant, turn left (East) on Y. Stay on Y until you get to Van Town (a few houses)while in Van Town, turn right (south) onto 190th Road. Continue South past church, keep winding around until you come to a "T" in the road, turn right (west), go along, cross bridge, turn lfet, go up hill to my house.

Thanks! And yes, I wondered on the running thru the creek. there are many spots to cross, they will get wet, but it's not deep and a couple places they could jump and get across without getting wet. Sunday.... after we spoke, I remembered that I am heading out to OK sunday evening. so, sunday at 3 will work if you are on time, and anytime before would be better (no doing the Illinois trip this week)(except Friday morning).
