Livestock at Farmers Market?

Putting state hwy right-of-ways to good use

I was listening to KSGF this morning on the way to work, and Bill DeLay had Rep. Eric Burlison on. Mr. Burlison was talking about wanting to put the highway right-of-ways to some good use AND save the state money by not having to pay crews to mow. I didn't catch the whole thing, but what I did hear sounded good. Thanks, Cathy!  I welcome help, links, web sites, info, from anyone ahead of me in the "growing stuff" department!  Right now I'm feeling pretty thankful for the rain, too!  I'm wanting to know what I can plant now for a fall garden.  I read that I can plant green beans, but I'm thinking that can't be right.  Isn't it too late?  I'm relatively new to gardening and a bit dysfunctional in finding the info I need.  Thanks, again!
