James Grab said… - I'm not familiar with that family. We are not Grabowski. I'm the youngest of 19 children, originally my grandpa was from Columbia, PA, which I believe is where they settled when they came from Germany. I did hear of a William Grab who lived near Reading, PA, and had talked to him one time, he was from Columbia as well. My grandpa's name was George J. Grab.

I think your idea of a group of older women getting together, making a home and being as self-sufficient as possible is a GREAT idea. It's been a lot of years since I had a large garden but I really enjoy all aspects of gardening and preserving what I grow. Are you in Springfield? Let me know when a good time is to visit and one of us can call the other. I'm home most of the time. My number is 833-8333.
