I think that will give them additional nutrition above the feed. I was thinking of building a chicken coup with at least one of the walls made from hay. It would keep them warm and give them goodies to peck at.

Doyle...that's a great idea. I have plenty of clover hay which should be to their liking as well. I think I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks!

I have been giving my laying hens alfalfa hay inside when there is snow on the ground and they love it.
