The Well Fed Neighbor Alliance, LTD, and in particular Galen Chadwick and Aubree Taylor, are honored that the State of Missouri has named it's Garden Challenge the "10,000 Gardens Challenge" following the incredible success of the 1000 Gardens Project in Springfield.  Way to go Galen and Aubree!  Read below and become involved.  Missouri first!

Hi Ruell --

Thanks. I have the list of some of the other fake spam names somewhere. I'll find it and send it. I'm not sure why they bug me so; maybe it's because all the REAL people involved here are so sincere, seem to be working hard at it, are committed to something -- and the fakes are none of those things.  Anyway, thanks. Please contact me and explain further what it is you are attempting to do. I am NOT a "Christian" minster. I am a metaphysical science minister. So don't know if I am what you are looking for. I would love to be of help if I can.

Warmly,
Shelah

My husband and I first heard about the WFNA while listening to the radio last Thursday. We attended both days of the summit and brought our business partners. It was well organized, thoughtful, inspiring and very timely. Thank you and everyone who worked hard to make this a success.
In regard to the concerns about too much government intervention and too much regulation, I would add this thought... Historically, we were so willing to give our authority to someone outside of ourselves. Government gladly stepped in and we let it. WFNA as was described at the summit will succeed because each family or business makes their own decisions, acts as their own authority and comes together to work interdependently for the betterment of everyone. That is not socialism, it is capitalism functioning at its best.

This is a timely idea, and will succeed because so many people are ready for the responsibility of this mission.

Thank you.

Is anyone from Well-Fed Neighbor available for a presentation at a church service this week (Oct 10)? Topic of your choice, food security would be great or just a summary of your activities in Springfield and the area. Our minister will be out of town and I'm scrambling to fill the sermon spot. "Sing Praise to God" is the suggested theme from the Lectionary. Anything you have to offer would fit nicely.

I got your e-mail addresses from Crater Critter postings by Larry Lewis of Osceola. My name is David Neuenschwander from rural Deepwater representing Valley Center United Church of Christ. We're roughly 15 miles north of Osceola (about 4 miles north of Lowry City), then just over a mile west of Hiway 13 at 930 NE 1126 Rd., a gravel road. Devore's Antiques is on the east side (right) of the crossroads where you turn west (left). There is a welcome sign on the southbound lanes. The church is on the left at the top of a hill. The church's phone number is (417) 644-7390 but isn't staffed. I don't expect we'll have more than 40 in attendance. 20 to 30 minutes would be great. The drive should take about an hour and a half. Services start at 9 am.

I can offer $40, if more is needed please let me know. Thank you for your consideration,

David Neuenschwander

Mornin' Ruell - Times are a changin' - and it is good to watch it happening and become a part every chance we can... So sorry I was unable to be at the courthouse steps but was there in spirit! The Sunday a.m. 7:00 news was full of educating approaches: the Tea Party's new colouring book by Wayne Bell and Nixa's Mr. Wilson who teaches with comic books... Maybe our movement needs a Wayne Bell to create a colouring/comic book for WFNA!!! We have a very powerful message that can also be taught as history as others are using that concept successfully... Congratulations on the successful announcement this past Friday - logic and truth will rule out... Mimi

Rats, rats, rats! Again I will be out of the country - making paper on Prince Edward Island with oceanic fibres I can't work with around these inland parts - when the alternate date is planned for the WFN get-together out at the farm... But the date proposed is logical as the weekend of the mid-point of June - I am so sorry I will miss it. I do expect to see many good shots captured from the event with an album featuring the friends and the pig roast(ing)! Have a great time - hope the weather holds for you this time around! Mimi
