Botanical Center Community Volunteer Training Sessions
Information provided by Katie Steinhoff
I am putting together a schedule and another program for Botanical Center training and orientation. Saturday, December 4th: 9am-11am OR Monday, January 10th: 5:30pm-7:30pm.
The Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center is the Park Board’s newest facility offering education, temporary exhibits, and social gathering space for the public and plant enthusiast groups that display and develop the gardens and attractions throughout the Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. The Center is home to the Greene County Extension Service, offering many public services including the plant doctor lab and Master Gardener hotline. Coming soon, botanical reference library!
Volunteers in the Botanical Center are needed to help answer phones, greet visitors, and provide information about the park and gardens, and show meeting space to potential renters. Additional opportunities can be arranged for leading groups, gift shop and library. A uniform shirt will be provided to volunteers committed to the program. Volunteers are needed anytime! Daily!
The facility currently operates 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday; 11:00am- 6:00pm Sunday. Please pass the word! Please let me know if you have any questions! Katie
