We call can:

Demand local food in our local groceries, yourschools, your hospitals and your locally owned restaurants

Do business with locally owned merchants whenever possible.

Learn and understand that a viable, vibrant, sustainable economy is NOT built on service industries. Rather, it is built on production. Food is a product that has real value.

Learn and understand that yourhome has a geographic advantage over almost any other location on the face of this continent when it comes to becoming self-sufficient in our food.

Learn and understand that 100 years ago, the most prosperous economy on the face of the continent was right here! Missouri fed the nation… fed the world its tomatoes…. Sent grapes to France and California and Apples to the entire country.

Understand that the WFNA is not about returning to a lifestyle 100 years old. What we do support is returning to this highly successful, proven model using all the technology we have at our disposal.

Grow food in your containers/house/backyard and teach your children what it is, how it is grown, how much time it takes to be useful as nourishment, and how much better it tastes than commodity or processed food.

Ask more from your leaders than just the ability to say the word “change”

Every political candidate should have knowledge of your lack of local food security, your lack of a locally sustainable economy and job base, and your lack of access to realistic health reform

Ask them what their plan is for you. If they say locally grown food creating a local economy and local health… vote for them. If not…. They aren’t doing anything but running for a job. Anybody can be against spending and the destruction of values! Lord, what does that mean? I’ve heard that since the 1960s! Demand action. Demand a plan for food and economic security now.

Take back your ability to drive the market. As a marketing person I am fully aware of how it is done. Today, they TELL you what you like and you go buy it. I know this sounds insane, but it is true. A huge array of products is no longer offered to you for preference. That’s not efficient. No! One product is produced, pushed and sold…. Now that’s efficient wouldn’t you agree?

Do you see ads for locally grown food on TV… in the newspaper? Nope , because the powers that be don’t want you eating locally grown food… they want you to buy their food…. The food they are pushing in the media.

But, if you demand local food…. In your stores, your school, your hospital, your restaurants and your businesses…. The market has to respond. It has no alternative.

Take your ability to Demand back! Don’t be told what you want….. decide that locally grown food is good for your security, your economy, your health and, most importantly, your children’s future and demand it! This is how we do it.

Ok, I have some news coming in the next couple of days. I want to make sure all is well before I announce. I’m so proud of all of you that have bought in to the power of local food in your local world. Look around you. The world is becoming more local daily. It has to. Business is consolidating, transportation routes are shorter, regionalization is coming. We had better make sure we can eat regionally wouldn’t you say?
